This Cookie Policy explains how Havrolen uses cookies on our website. We use cookies to improve your browsing experience, understand how you interact with our site, and personalise content for our community of tabletop gaming enthusiasts, board game players, poker tournament participants, bridge club members, and strategy game league competitors.
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit our website. They contain information that helps us recognise you when you return, remember your preferences, and track your interaction with our site. Cookies are widely used across the internet and are essential for delivering personalised web experiences. We use cookies to enhance your visits to our gaming community platform, whether you’re checking tournament schedules, reviewing bridge club sessions, or exploring strategy game leagues.
Each cookie has an expiration date. Some cookies expire when you close your browser, while others persist for weeks or months. We only use cookies that serve a legitimate purpose in supporting our services and community engagement.
Types of Cookies We Use
We use several categories of cookies to support our operations and improve your experience:
- Essential Cookies: These cookies are necessary for our website to function properly. They enable core features like page navigation, access to secure areas, and session management for our board game meetup registrations and tournament sign-ups.
- Performance Cookies: We use these to understand how visitors interact with our site. They collect anonymised data about page visits, user behaviour, and site performance. This helps us identify which gaming events, poker nights, or bridge club content resonates most with our community.
- Functional Cookies: These remember your preferences and settings, such as your language choice, preferred game categories, or notification settings for upcoming weekly board game gatherings and strategy game league matches.
- Targeting Cookies: We may use cookies to deliver relevant content about our tabletop gaming events, poker tournament nights, and card club sessions based on your interests and previous visits.
How We Use Cookies
We use cookies to deliver a seamless experience across our platform for mature players interested in board games, poker, bridge, and strategy games. Cookies help us maintain your login status during your session, remember which gaming events you’ve bookmarked, and understand which board game categories, poker tournaments, or bridge club sessions generate the most engagement.
Our analytics use cookies to track page performance, popular content about strategy games, and user navigation patterns. This anonymised data helps us optimise our website layout, improve our event scheduling systems, and ensure our community features are working effectively. We never sell this data to third parties. We also use cookies to personalise your experience, displaying relevant information about gaming meetups and events that match your interests in tabletop gaming.
Functional cookies help us remember your settings and preferences, making your next visit to our site faster and more convenient. When you return to check weekly board game gatherings or poker tournament schedules, we can restore your preferred language and notification settings without requiring you to reconfigure them.
Managing Your Cookies
You have full control over your cookie preferences. Most web browsers allow you to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being set. You can manage your cookie settings through your browser’s privacy or security settings. Instructions for controlling cookies are typically found in your browser’s help section. If you disable cookies, some features of our website may not function properly, including your ability to register for board game meetups, poker tournaments, or bridge club sessions.
We respect your privacy choices. If you prefer not to accept cookies, you can still browse our public content about tabletop gaming, view information about our strategy game leagues, and learn about our poker tournament nights and board game gatherings. However, interactive features like event registration may be limited.
You can clear cookies from your device at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers provide options to delete all cookies or specific cookies from individual websites. Clearing cookies will remove stored preferences, so you may need to adjust your settings again on your next visit.
Third-Party Cookies
We use analytics and performance monitoring services that may set their own cookies on your device. These third-party cookies help us measure website traffic, understand user behaviour patterns, and improve our services for the tabletop gaming community. We only partner with reputable providers who respect privacy standards and data protection regulations.
We do not control third-party cookies, and we recommend reviewing their privacy policies directly. You can typically manage third-party cookies through your browser settings or opt-out options provided by the service providers themselves.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will post any updates on this page with a revised last-updated date. Your continued use of our website after updates indicates your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy regularly to stay informed about how we use cookies and manage your data as part of our commitment to the tabletop gaming and board game community.
